The Gold Coast Hostel welcomes you with our chill atmosphere and relaxed vibe. We have several types of rooms with air conditioning  (for 1, 2, 4, 6 or 8 beds).

This is a fun hostel, but it is not a madhouse. We are not Party Central. We`re happy if you start the night at our Hostel, but from 12pm on we would like  to keep quiet. You're never far from a great party in Lagos, but following it up with a good night's sleep in a relaxed environment is priceless. That is what you will get at Gold Coast.

The Double rooms (for couples) have the same facilities as dorms, but they are located in our second building, 40 meters away from the main Hostel. Check-ins are at the given address.

A large kitchen is available for guests use. You can enjoy a drink on our terrace and use our barbeque! Not to mention the common room with lots of dvds and books. Also there is free broadband and WiFi Internet access. Other facilities include free individual safes, towles and linen as well as free coffee and tea all day.

Come for our free Sangria tasting and other surprise specials.

We make bookings for transfers from Faro Airport to Lagos and from here to there. Suitable for small or bigger groups. A 48 hours advance booking is desirable. Please contact us right after your booking is done.

Portugal is easier if you are in a budget since most supermarket food and beverage is cheaper then in most western European countries. You can also get take-away food  in lots of places.

At Gold Coast we help you with any information you might need about Lagos and area and also about other great places in Portugal, what to see, how to get there, bus and trains timetables and more.

NEW: Have a taste of the “traditional Algarve” with our special dinners and learn how to prepare some of the local best dishes.

Enjoy a City tour with a local guide and learn about Lagos not only as a fun town but also as a cultural and historical place!

Arriving by train:

Walk through the Marina, cross the suspension bridge and turn left to the main avenue (Descobrimentos Avenue). Continue down the main avenue, you should pass a Repsol Gasoline Station on your right hand side. Continue on for a minute and you will pass a fish market, taxi stand and post office (on a commercial street). Then, there is a small square with a funny statue in the middle. (ATTENTION PLEASE: don't walk to much on the main avenue or you'll get to a big square with another statue far from us and you'd have to return).

From there (small square), enter Rua (street) Garrett towards the next little square. You will see at one corner a snack bar named "Cavaleiro". Enter the long street around the corner from it (Rua Cândido dos Reis) and go up the hill. Turn the 4th to the right, which is exactly our street "Gil Vicente". You'll find us at the number forty-eight.

Coming from Faro or Lisbon

You can take either a bus or a train. They run several times a day, being even more frequent on the summer and on weekdays. Coming from the north of Portugal, you'll go to Lisbon first and then directly to Lagos.

Coming from Spain

You can go to Seville and take a direct bus to Lagos. Sometimes you may get a bad info in Spain about this. Some people don't realise there is a direct bus and they will inform on alternatives which are time consuming and not necessary since you can take the bus in Seville (Plaza de Armas station). The buses to Lagos run twice a day, on a daily basis.

Flying to Faro Airport

You can take a taxi or a bus to Faro downtown where you'll find both the train and bus stations almost side by side. As mentioned above, you can use one of those to get to Lagos.

The Gold Coast is close to the Lagos main public transportation, such as bus and train. About 10 to 15 minutes walking distance.
